Minutes

Motion to accept the minutes with corrections was made by Steve Kaple and seconded by Amanda Dirlam. Motion carried unanimously.

Gifts

Gifts totaling $3,204.38 were received. Motion to accept by Sadie Rogers, seconded by Steve Kaple. Motion carried unanimously.

Director’s Report

• A meeting is scheduled with Sound Solutions in Tiffin in August regarding digital signage.
• Connecting Kids to Meals server training was completed on May 22, 2025, with Angela and Pam. Alyssa Tornow was hired as a new clerk.
• Final budget to be passed on June 30; it has passed both the Senate and the House.
• Unattended Children Policy and Patron Code of Conduct reviewed. Motion to accept both policies by Amanda Dirlam, seconded by George Johnston. Motion carried unanimously.
• 350 attendees at the kickoff party; 40 adults, 275 children, and 30 teens registered for Summer Reading.
• Upcoming Projects: Storybook Walk in Community Park; Strategic Planning for 2026; Library Open House: 120 Years of Stories and Community Scan Project.
• Programs: Harp Concert, Passport Photos & Travel Spanish Class, Fraud Protection with U.S. Bank, and Class Act Dance Studio Performance.
  Note: The Library will be closed on June 19th and July 4th.

In recognition of Karen George’s retirement, a crystal etching will be ordered and picked up by board members Steve Kaple and George Johnston.
Renewal of term for trustee Karen Langley was approved.

Fiscal Officer’s Report

As of May 1, 2025:

• General Fund: $1,309,610.36
• Total Amount: $1,608,804.16

Motion to accept the fiscal report as presented was made by Amanda Dirlam and seconded by Steve Kaple. Motion carried unanimously.
