Minutes
Motion to accept the previous meeting minutes was made by Steve Kaple and seconded by Amanda Dirlam. Motion carried unanimously.
Gifts
Gifts totaling $78.17 were received. Motion to accept was made by Marie Archer and seconded by Karen Langley. Motion carried unanimously.
Director’s Report
- Building & Grounds: Industrial Appraisal conducted an on-site visit October 16–17, 2025. A report is expected by the end of the year. 419 Window Cleaning provided a quote of $1,706.00 for annual interior and exterior window cleaning.
- Technology: The Windows 11 update project has been completed. The library will transition to Managed Printing with Cassie through Clevnet. Cassie also offers a wireless printing option to be explored in 2026. During October, the library is borrowing a 3D printer from Norweld.
- Training and Meetings: Friends of the Library Meeting (9/23); OLC Small Library Director’s Forum at Tiffin Library (9/24); OLC Regional Library Directors Meeting in Dublin (9/26); Westside Clevnet Directors Meeting via Teams (9/30); meeting with Ingram (10/1) resulting in four book orders; CyberOhio Webinar (10/8); training with WTCox Professional and meeting with OPI-Con (10/15); Circulation SIG meeting with Clevnet (10/16); and follow-up visit with Industrial Appraisal (10/17).
- Staff: Applications are being collected for a part-time clerk position. A partnership is being established with the Clyde Police Department to bill employment background checks directly to the library.
- Current Projects: Planning continues for the 120 Year Celebration. The Director is working with the Friends of the Library on t-shirt, mug, and possible tote bag designs for sale. Planning is underway for the Open House on October 6, 2026. Strategic Planning will begin following a meeting with the consultant this month. Digitization of microfiche is pending pricing and timeline estimates; the Hurd Fund may be used.
- Programs: November 3, 2025 – Fall Wine Bottle Crafts and Dogman Party; Library closed November 11, 2025 for Veterans Day; November 13, 2025 – Autumn Watercolors.
- Staff Shout Outs: Nelcy and Alyssa will distribute candy during Clyde’s Trick or Treat. Angela and Rachel led a scavenger hunt program at Community Park with 14 attendees. Raini is doing an excellent job training for the cataloging/technical services role.
