Clyde Public Library Board Meeting

Date & Time: March 17, 2025 @ 7pm

Present: Langley, Dirlam, Johnston, Weasner, Kaple, Rogers, Archer

Others Present: Rachel Henck Bentley, Director, Karen Gerber, Fiscal Officer

Correspondences: None

Minutes: Motion to accept minutes with corrections was made by Rogers and seconded by Johnston. Motion carried unanimously.

Gifts: $16.27 to be accepted. Motion to accept by Archer and seconded by Dirlam. Motion carried unanimously.

Director’s Report

  • Awaiting Bayside to come in for furnace replacement.
  • ACJ fixed the front door arm. Cost was $1,379.50.
  • Parking Lot asphalt quotes were from Hart Asphalt, M&B Asphalt, & 7L Construction. The board decided on going with M&B Asphalt at $37,000, estimated 2 days work (need empty lot) for milling and sealing. Motion made by Rogers and 2nd by Johnston. Motion carried unanimously.
  • New BingeBox DVD collection, charging stations on select tables in the library.
  • Mark’s Handyman service will be hanging 2 of Dorothy Cox’s paintings and help recess charging hubs into tables to run cords under floor plates.
  • Hotspots from Tech Soup for the devices and service which will start next year for a complete total of $882. Streaming platforms would cost approximately $75/month for Hulu, Max, Disney Plus, Prime Video, Paramount Plus, and Netflix. Movies would be added to Vudu Movie app with codes received with purchase. First year cost: $2,000 for 6 hotspots and 6 Roku devices with streaming. Annual cost after first year: $1,600.
  • Reviewed Meeting Room Policy and motion to approve by Dirlam and seconded by Langley. Motion carried unanimously.
  • Reviewed Board Bylaws.

  • Met with John Henry Eldred Jr. Foundation on March 12.
  • Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce meeting on March 25 at the library.

Motion to accept this amount was made by Johnston and seconded by Archer. Motion carried unanimously.
