Clyde Public Library Board Meeting

Minutes
A motion to accept the previous minutes was made by Archer and seconded by Kaple. Motion carried unanimously.
Gifts
$69,206.55 to be accepted. Motion made by Kaple and seconded by Archer. Motion carried unanimously.
Director's Report
Repairs and Upgrades
- Power washing: Dr. Revival and Hall's Family Pressure Washing.
- Stair replacement: Discussing patching versus replacement, with replacement currently preferred. Estimates to come.
- Front entrance doors: Estimates are forthcoming for both swinging and sliding door options.
- Exterior security cameras and lighting are being considered.
Technology Updates
Hotspots are potentially coming soon, pending CLEVNET approval and entry into the catalog.
Trainings and Meetings
- CLEVNET Directors Meeting.
- Various Kiwanis meetings.
- Picked up bicycles from Troy-Miami County Public Library.
- Summer training for Connecting Kids to Meals. Waiting for state approval for the program.
Staff
Staff have been promoting the Summer Reading Program at the local schools.
Programs at the Library
- May 20 – All About Birding.
- May 25 – Closed for Memorial Day.
- May 30 – Summer Reading Kick-Off Party.
- June 1 – Tentative start date for Lunch Program.
- October 6 – Open House, 5:00–7:00 PM.
Fiscal Officer's Report
As of October 31, 2026:
- General Fund: $1,443,569.32
- Total Amount: $1,755,656.43
Motion to accept the report was made by Archer and seconded by Dirlam. Motion carried unanimously.
Old Business
The replacement for Marie Archer was discussed. Her last meeting as a Board of Trustees member was May 18, 2026.
New Business
Kaple made a motion to nominate Sharon Kinnear as Archer's replacement on the Board of Education.
Executive Session
A motion to enter executive session was made by Rogers and seconded by Archer. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion to adjourn at 7:44 PM was made by Kaple and seconded by Rogers. Motion carried unanimously.
